The Tended Office was born from something simple:
a belief that meaningful work often happens quietly behind the scenes.
Before a patient is ever seen, someone has already answered the phone, explained the practice, coordinated schedules, prepared documentation, and ensured that the systems of the clinic are functioning the way they should.
That work matters.
And when it is done well, patients feel confident in their care, providers are able to focus, and the entire experience of a clinic changes.
For most of my life, caring for people has been central to who I am.
As a wife of nearly thirty years and a mother of four, caregiving has shaped how I see the world — influencing how I approach responsibility, communication, and the way people experience moments that matter.
Healthcare felt like a natural extension of that calling.
I knew early on that my role would not be at the bedside, but behind the desk — supporting the work of care in a different, but equally important way.
Over the years, I have worked across a wide range of healthcare environments, including private clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices.
My work has included:
I have worked in in-person, virtual, and hybrid models, giving me a unique perspective on how healthcare operations continue to evolve — and what clinics truly need in order to function well.
I have also worked within both insurance-based and self-pay models, understanding how different these systems are — and how important it is for administrative professionals to communicate clearly and confidently in each.
Throughout my experience, one thing became clear:
Many administrative professionals are expected to manage complex, essential responsibilities
without ever being formally taught how to do the job well.
They are expected to:
All while learning through trial and error.
These roles are not simple.
They are foundational.
And yet, they are often overlooked.
The Tended Office exists to bring structure, clarity, and confidence to the administrative side of healthcare.
This work is not about theory.
It is about the real systems clinics rely on every day:
Through training, coaching, and practical guidance, I help assistants, coordinators, and clinic teams understand not just what to do — but why it matters and how it all works together.
I believe that tending to the details of a clinic’s operations is a quiet act of excellence.
When administrative systems are handled well:
This work may not always be seen,
but it is deeply felt.
The Tended Office exists for the people who keep everything running.
The ones who answer the phone.
Who coordinate the details.
Who carry the weight of communication, organization, and care behind the scenes.
This work is meaningful.
It deserves to be done well.
And it deserves to be supported.
